 Although it's still spring, we are already having summer temperatures here
 first strawberries in our garden are ripe.
It's the most wonderful time in the garden, everything blooms and fragrance.

inspired me to create a new layout.

GD Calico Craft Parts Minialbum 'FantaSea'

Hello everyone!

I want to share with you some pages from my new Minialbum ''FantaSEA''.

Although it's still spring, we are already having summer temperatures here and it's also very dry. This makes me long for a fresh sea breeze at the beach, holding a shell  to my ear, closing my eyes and making the sea rustle in my mind. Absolutely beautiful and relaxing!

 

For the cover of my Mini-album I wanted to try a new combination. I crocheted some marine motifs and sewed them on the fabric envelope.

There are a lot of beautiful things which you can use on small projects like cards, tags, or ATC's.

I have discovered my enthusiasm for junk journals at the moment. With these you can combine and collect so many beautiful and beloved things. I love it because you can collect memorabilia and also try techniques and products.

You leaf through it again and again and you can always take it with you
 to quickly show friends what you love doing.

You can see I have used both, the possibility to leave 

the MDF parts untreated, as well as to paint them.

This project was so much fun to create and I love the scene that you can build up,
 using all the mini wooden shapes.
I think that wasn't my last journal page with these parts :-)!

GD 'Make the Time' with Maja Design

Welcome!

It's a vintage layout with the title 'Make the time'. I used a very old photo from my ancestors, a beautiful memory for our family. 

The latest amazing Maja Design Collection 'Celebrate' http://majadesign.nu/products/celebration/
was very suitable to my photo to this very special day so many years ago. I worked with the paper sheets 'Anniversary', 'Glamour' and 'Your invited'.

 

 It's always a good idea to create with frames on scrapbooking layout. I added a printed chipboard frame on the lower right side with a very wise saying in it. The second frame around the photo was made with cutting dies and old crafty paper in weathered look.

The petrified kraken

Ein freundliches Hallo allerseits!

Es ist wieder Zeit für eine neue Inspiration für unseren Steampunk Challenge.

Entstanden ist eine Mixed Media Flasche im Steampunkstyle.

Hauptheld ist ein versteinerter Kraken, 

der zu lange in die Augen der 'wunderschönen Medusa'

geblickt hat.

Ausgangsmaterial war eine alte Weinflasche.

...und hier einige Tipps zum Herstellungsprozess

Gearbeitet wurde mit einfacher Knete, die zu schmalen Rollen für die Fangarme geformt wurde.

Der Kopf entstand aus einer Kugel, die ich flach gedrückt habe.

Anschließend wurden viele kleine Kugeln geformt, die mit Hilfe eines Holzspießes als Saugnäpfe für den Kraken ausgehöhlt wurden.

...und damit er nicht so normal aussieht, heißt, eine versteinerte Oberfläche erhält

wurde er weiter rücksichtslos ;-) mit dem Holzspieß bearbeitet

zum Aufkleben sämtlichster Materialien wie bspw. ausgestanzte Zahnräder, Gaze, 3D Perlen und Kraken wurde Heavy Gel Medium von DecoArt genutzt

 nach dem Aufkleben wurde alles mit schwarzem Gesso übermalt und nach dem Trocknungsprozess mit verschiedenen Acrylfarben (DecoArt Fluid Acrylics- Blautöne, Kupfer, Weiß) und einem breiten trockenen Pinsel gebrusht

die Laternen und das Ornament am Flaschenhalsrand entstanden mit Hilfe von Silikonformen und lufthärtender Modelliermasse

Gift idea with Maja Design

Hello friends!

Soon is Mother's Day and I want to give a little attention to my mother. I created a mixed media frame in a delicate shabby chic look. 

 

I used a simply frame as basic. Firstly I made some ornaments with the help of moulds and air drying modeling clay. These were glued to the frame with heavy gel medium, I added some metallic sticker too.
Then I painted everything over with Chalky Finish 'Vintage' paint.

Now put some heavy white gesso over the embellishments to bring out the texture and details on the frame.

 I've always loved the combination of these colours and the beautiful 'Celebration' paper is probably my favourite in the stash. Cut to fit and complemented with a metal frame from Prima and some blooms, the new frame in altered art was finished.

 

 Suitable to this frame I made two wooden handpainted candle holds with her favourite flowers 

and a irish crochet doily.
