Photo in a Jar

Welcome crafty friends!

I'm absolutely happy and proud, because I'm the newest teamie
on the amazing Designteam from Calico Craft Parts :-).
I'm a big fan from this MDF shapes, because they have an individual design with fine contours and shades, giving them a personal touch.

Today I want to share with you an idea for a home decoration piece,
it's also perfect as gift for a lovely family member.
It's very simple and made quickly, you only have to pay attention to the size of the individual parts, so that they fit through the narrow neck of the bottle. The easiest way is to work with tweezers.

I use a transparent glass bottle and poured a lot of Baltic Sea sand into it, then I cut a beach chair from a photo. The newest Seahorse & Seashell Collage Size M was so awesome for me, because I love seahorses in all types and sizes.

more details can you find here

I didn't want to paint them at first, because I was afraid to destroy the fine contour lines.
That's why I decided to use Antiquing cream, a water based colour from DecoArt in Titanium White, Patina Green and Raw Umber. For the seahorse a little bit orange water colour. In addition on some places Decosand glued with Heavy Gel Medium.

Relaxed days

Hello friends!

Today a new layout as memory on wonderful, relaxed days by the sea. It's very hot here and I wish I could be there now. So it was a pleasure for me to think on the refreshing sea breeze, clear air and restful moments and tranquillity

I was inspired from the wonderful blue shade from the paper sheet 1934 (Vintage Summer Basics), the right colour and background and absolutely suitable to my photo from our sunshine dog 'Filou'.
I also used some chipboards (Scrap FX, Blue Fern Studios) cutting dies (Joy Craft), background stamps(49 and Market) and very importantly for me shells, a natural starfish, baltic sea sand and a wooden seahorse. I love it to use such natural products
then it feels like you're there yourself.

 some details

My teamies at Maja Design have come up with many
inspiring and different versions for all the amazing paper collections.

Please have a look and feel you inspired to create your own

Junk Journal Natural friends

Hello everyone!

My latest 'Junkie' is ready, it's slightly thicker than become planned. I used a lot of Scrap FX products and tried new combinations and techniques, it was a lot of fun. Today I want to share with you the cover and some another pages with were made with the amazing

Junk Journal Kit 'Nature'

Do you know all the Transparencies from Scrap FX??
I love this foils, a lot of sayings and beautiful motifs. I used 'Grand Old Tree' as Cover for my journal.
The Kit contains a big envelope, that was the basic and I used  Distress spray 'Vintage Photo' with some stains. I glued this foil behind the dark places by tree, so that the glue spots were not visible.
If you sew the journal together, you can easily pierce the foil with the needle

beautiful butterflies transparency is also contained in this Nature Kit
I love this transparent effect, because you can see the page behind it.

Friends are the flowers in the Garden of Life, a wonderful saying, that necessarily had to go in there.
The laser cut page reminds me on a bark from a tree, I glued music paper behind this cut out.

Don't worry, be happy, this little frogs makes a good mood

On the right side you can see a glassine bag, a very good addition for a Junk Journal, because you can
collect some photo's, pictures, but you can also hide some surprises if you want to give away your journal to a friend.

I hope I could inspire you to try your own Journal,
a lot of possibilities and fun!

Next time, I'll show you the rest of this journal !
Happy crafting!

Seahorse in a frame

Welcome!

Happy crafting!

GD Calico Craft Parts Minialbum 'FantaSea'

Hello everyone!

I want to share with you some pages from my new Minialbum ''FantaSEA''.
Although it's still spring, we are already having summer temperatures here and it's also very dry. This makes me long for a fresh sea breeze at the beach, holding a shell  to my ear, closing my eyes and making the sea rustle in my mind. Absolutely beautiful and relaxing!

For the cover of my Mini-album I wanted to try a new combination. I crocheted some marine motifs and sewed them on the fabric envelope.

There are a lot of beautiful things which you can use on small projects like cards, tags, or ATC's.
I have discovered my enthusiasm for junk journals at the moment. With these you can combine and collect so many beautiful and beloved things. I love it because you can collect memorabilia and also try techniques and products.

You leaf through it again and again and you can always take it with you
to quickly show friends what you love doing.

more details can you find here

You can see I have used both, the possibility to leave
the MDF parts untreated, as well as to paint them.

This project was so much fun to create and I love the scene that you can build up,
using all the mini wooden shapes.
I think that wasn't my last journal page with these parts :-)!

I want to share this nautical spread
