DIY Shabby Chic Easter Eggs

Happy sunday my friends!

Today the second part, maybe an interesting easter inspiration for you?!

I used simple plastic eggs as underground
together with some handmade pieces (moulds) and colour sprays,
finished and highlighted with Metallic wax.

The result are pastel eggs that impress with their structure and simple elegance.

 I want to share this

Easter Eggs in French Style Part 1

Hello creative friends!

Easter is just around the corner and it's the best time to create some new Easter eggs. Outside it's anything but springlike, on the contrary snowflakes are falling from the sky again, omg :-)
More beautiful is it now in the warm and cosy crafty studio.

I used an old wooden egg as basic, very rustic and natural and absolutely perfect for me.
First of all I made some spring motives with silicon moulds and an acrylic mass from the DIY store. The parts are still flexible even after drying, which is why you can use them very well on real Easter eggs. You can find two examples here tomorrow.

Together with a linen fabric (from an old potato sack) everything was glued on with a hot glue gun. Now I have coated everything with a covering layer of Chalky Finish 'Vintage' from Americana Decor. Now came the most difficult part of the work ??

...wait until it is properly dried ;-)

On the next day a layer of Antiquing Cream 'Titanium White',
let it dry for a short time and wipe off with a damp sponge at some places on the surface.
At the end I used Metallic Lustre 'Champagne Ice' for some shiny highlights.

Daffodils in Rust

Welcome Maja friends!

It's springtime  and the daffodils are already blooming everywhere, simply wonderful.
I was inspired to combine the bright yellow flowers with a rusty shade.
This radiates the charm of a beautiful old farmer's garden, I love such beautiful places.

I used again a beautiful background paper from the awesome paper collection 'Vintage Spring Basics'. The sheet '1st of March' together with '6th and 10th of March'
were absolutely perfect for a mixed media layout in a rustic vintage style.

Time flies for Maja Design

Welcome!

Have you seen our newest monthly Moodboard at Maja Design ?! an absolutely favourite for me, I love this colour combination, perfect for a vintage layout and and I'm totally behind the theme

'' Fill your life with experience, not things. Have stories to tell, not stuff to show.''

a true saying, which should be more used in the world of handicrafts too.

.. and those who know me and look closely will notice that behind all my projects a story is told, sometimes obviously and then again rather hidden.

used Maja Design papers from the Vintage Autumn Basis collection

The Sun, the moon and the stars

Hello!

I'm back with a new inspiration for you.
So let's start with our monthly challenge at SASPC
- it is - as usual - an
themed challenge and all kinds of projects (except digitally created ones) are welcome!
So show us your tags, cards, art journal pages, canvases,
 altered objects, drawings, paintings, sketches....
whatever you're up to as long as it fits our challenge themes
steampunk or industrial.

I was inspired to create a new cover for an Art Journal in Mixed media style.

I wanted to reach a dark deep blue and used a mixture
from 3 DecoArt Fluid Acrylics
Prussian Blue Hue, Cobalt Blue Hue and Carbon Black

a cutout halfmoon embossed with a gear folder

It was a real challenge to photograph this cover realistically
and I must say it looks better in real life :)

We are looking forward to see your new creations!
