Filou and the shoelace

Welcome everyone

Our new theme at Our creative corner in this month hosted by
our new very creative Jan is

What makes you smile ? :-)?

Close your eyes for a few minutes, relax and think about something that makes you smile..............
It could be a special person, a favourite place, a quote, an incident, the list is endless!
our June challenge is to create something that will make us smile, it could be a scrapbook or journal page, a canvas, a tag, whatever your imagination dictates.

My first thought to this theme was my dog for many years.
As he was a  puppy he had always fun to pull out the laces from our shoes.
He no longer does this, but it is always something new thought out, it never gets boring ;-)!

   Supplies:
white Gesso DecoArt Media Medium
Distress inks faded jeans, vintage photo, walnut stain + Mini mister + water
corrugated cardboard
stamps
denim + Tim Holtz AlterationsTattered florals die

Techniques with Gesso

Resist Technique.. with gesso (sealed paper )
texture worked with fork in moist gesso
yarn glued in moist gesso

I want to try the combi with fabric and yarn, (it was my old jeans ;-)

frame consists of cracked out carton (corrugated)
inked with distress ink walnut stain + white gesso

The teamies at OCC have come up with many inspiring and different mixed-media versions
on the theme this time.
Please pop on over and have fun!!

This month one lucky winner will win a prize from our  sponsor

  1. Kerstin! These art journal pages are simply beautiful and fun!! I LOVE all of the textures and your use of including pieces of your old jeans! Fabulous!! And the yarn that you've strung through the pages--I totally see the shoelaces that Filou has drug out of the family shoes!! :) :) Completely stunning pages--Completely making me smile!! (I just love pictures/stories of our puppies!) Happy June to you!! XOXO-Shari
