Discovered in the wood for Calico Craft Parts

Hello everybody!

Today a new mixed media inspiration for Calico Craft Parts. 

On the early morning I love to go for a walk in the forest 

with my dog especially in these hot days. 

We are both eager observers of nature, my dog with the nose 

and I always walk with open eyes through the field and corridor. 

You can discover so many wonderful inspirations hidden away.

You often see nature conquering back its field, I always find that very fascinating.

I found some beautiful and very inspiring wooden shapes
in the Flora and Fauna department.

Salty kisses for Dusty Attic

Welcome everyone!

 We are having a very hot and especially dry summer over here and even the thought

 of a cool fresh sea breeze is more than welcome.

So I already enjoyed to just think of the refreshing sea breeze, the clear air 

and some restful moments and tranquillity.

I created a mixed media layout as memory on a wonderful vaccation by the sea last year.

Our Sheltie dog loves the sea as much as I do and can't get his ball out of the sea often enough and romp on the beach.

Strawberry Season

Welcome everyone!

The strawberries are ripe, a wonderful time in the garden, 

which always reminds me of my childhood. 

There was nothing better than picking them myself and putting them right in mouth. 

I was inspired to create a mixed media project on a canvas. For that I used some papers from the 'Summertime' collection. There you can find a lot of  red suitable papers. The Maja Design papers are always of a very good quality, they are firm and stable and therefore also ideally suited for colour games. It is advisable to always start with a layer of clear gesso, so that the paper is sealed and does not curl.

Romantic & Cool - a Maja Design Layout

Welcome creative friends!

I don't know I you have seen my latest layout 'My fave Jeans' 

with the newest Maja Design collection 'Denim & Girls'.

I used some parts from my sorted out jeans.  

But it's not necessary to cut up your favorite jeans ;-)!!

As Marie says:'' If you want that denim-feel but don’t want to cut your jeans apart 

you can always use the denim-looking sheets of the Denim & Friends collection,

 they do match the Denim & Girls line perfectly.''

 But my favorite jeans also had wonderful pockets :-)! and they had to be used in a handicrafts project. I like to wear jeans and love the combination with delicate white lace blouses or cool T-shirts. With a pair of jeans you are always dressed right., a real inspiration source.

Treasure your Memories for Dusty Attic

Welcome everyone!

 Our amazing June Moodboard  at Dusty Attic reminds me on a beautiful sunset on a lake vacation. 

Everything is so peaceful, somewhere quacks a frog, crickets chirp, midges play in the evening light (unfortunately they not only play, but also satisfy their appetite ;-)) a wonderful atmosphere! 

I was inspired from the wooden planks and the beautiful warm evening colours. I absolutely wanted it together with other natural materials in my mixed media layout. I used some papers from Maja design and had the idea to create a frame of wooden planks.

My fave Jeans - Moodboard June Maja Design

Welcome everyone!

 The latest Paper collection from Maja Design is on air and what could I say the delicate colours and romantic motifs speaks for themselves.
 
Denim & Girls
 

A fully successful mixture for young people and the young at heart and always up to date.

 I was so inspired that I immediately had to try out the new paper on a layout.

The titel of this layout is 'My fave Jeans', suitable to the worn jeans in a girly grunge style.

I had to dispose my favourite jeans, but it was too bad for the garbage, 

because you can use still parts of them for crafting :-)

and indirectly express the desire for a new pair of pants.

Upcycle it!

Welcome!

Today a new inspiration for Calico Craft Parts. 

Together with some of their latest craft parts I used an old LP
(vinyl record) as a base for a new mixed media project.
I have been wanting to try this upcycling idea for a long time now.

I have used various mixed media products such as crackle and texture paste, 

gesso and modelling paste.  

I wasn't sure how those media would behave on the LP,

but I have to say that in the end I was very astonished -

this substrate is actually very suitable and the black colour from the vinyl forms a good contrast

 and the vinyl also can even be stamped very well.
