Grunge World for Dusty Attic

Welcome everyone!

I was inspired to create a new canvas in grunge style.
Grunge is actually a style of rock music from the nineties. The motto of the trend "come as you are" shows that everything is allowed as long as it is authentic. That's exactly what I love about it, it doesn't have to be perfect, but it has to be real, you tell a story, you think yourself in and choose the right single parts.  Here are many wonderful steampunk and industrial chipboards, which are best suited to create a mixed media collage to your liking and mood.

 some details

The famous photo motives were on a wallpaper, where I got some leftovers from a friend. I used two of them and framed them with the dusty attic chipboards. To make it look old, dirty and rusty, I experimented with some acrylic paints and decosand.

was only coloured with silber and black acrylic paint,
I also added a round metallic embellishment and
a blue bling sticker with wood in the centre.

with acrylic colours 'Transparent Yellow Iron Oxide', 'Burnt Umber' and 'Carbon Black'
light brown deco sand was sprinkled into the still wet colour

I hope that I was able to inspire you!

GD Minialbum Makers - Denim Friends

Welcome everyone!

It's a big honour to be invited at Minialbum Makers
and I'm very happy about this.

I'm a handicraft enthusiast with passion since my childhood, crafting makes me happy :-)!

It is a wonderful relaxation and balm for the soul, it's the little things in life that makes you happy and I love to share this joy and want to encourage my friends and all the others to try new ideas.

I was inspired to create a mixed media album in denim look, washed out and not as neat, just like a really good pair of jeans. I have used some of my favorite collections for my minialbum, the Denim & Friends and Denim & Girls collection. I am absolutely in love with the delicate blue colours and designs of this papers.

  Basic materials:

Eileen Hull Journal die

Maja Design Paper collection: Denim and Friends, Denim and Girls

denim leftovers from an old jeans trousers

Want to see how they are made the greyboard cover?

Here I have some photos from the making.

1.    I started by applying a coat of white crackle paint

          (DecoArt) on the background

     2.        I used a acrylic paint mixture of blue shades together

            with a Chalkboard Glimmer

            Mist  (Boogie Board- Tattered Angels)

spray desired areas with water then drop Glimmer

            Mist onto the wet areas

3. + 4. I applied Dimensional effects, a paintable texture

paste from DecoArt using two stencils

5.        after drying I highlighted the dimensional effects with

            a metallic finish wax

           (Metallic Lustre 'Chanpagne Ice')

6.       I thought it would be a cool idea and very suitable to

          my theme 'Denim and Friends'

when I used  origin denim fabric and so

I created a sailboat with two leftovers from an old

jeans, a wooden skewer works as sailing mast.

Bicycle Tours for Dusty Attic

Welcome everyone!

It's springtime here and just the right time to go on a bicycle tours.
Especially in spring when the fruit trees blossom,
is driving through our countryside
wonderful. Simply out into the countryside, take a picnic with you,
lie on the meadow and listen to the birds singing, an absolute relaxation programme.

As I saw our May Moodboard I thought on bly sky, blossoming cherry trees

and beautiful green meadows.

Suitable to our fresh and bright May Moodboard I choose a paper
from the Maja Design 'Vintage Springtime Basics' Collection as background.

some close up's

the Heraldry Motif was a perfect picture frame for me
I used the larger part as upper boundary
and the narrower part as lower boundary of the photo

chipboards were first primed with white gesso
and some texture paste and then painted with two blue tones

I love this very romantic and nostalgic Vintage Clock #1
for an old wheathered look I only use a white Acrylic Paint Dabber on some places
and added some embellishments.

My  teamies at Dusty Attic Design DT have come up with many

inspiring and different versions
on this May Moodboard theme.
Please have a look and feel you inspired to create your own idea.
We are looking forward to see your new creations!

Acryl Pouring with Calico Craft Parts

Welcome!

Today a new inspiration project for Calico Craft Parts,
it's a wooden tag, where I also used two elements (moon and tree)
made with silicone moulds and
Acrylic sealing compound from the DIY store.

Now I have finally tried out this trend-setting Acrylic Pouring Technique.

I worked with DecoArt Pouring Medium and the Puddle Pour method.
I used only three colours: white, black and Metallic paint 'Silver' from DecoArt.

more details can you find here

I hope you like this new inspiration.

Happy crafting!

FLY with SASPC

Welcome!

I'm back with a new inspiration for you.
So let's start with our monthly challenge at SASPC
- it is - as usual - an
themed challenge and all kinds of projects (except digitally created ones) are welcome!
So show us your tags, cards, art journal pages, canvases,
 altered objects, drawings, paintings, sketches....
whatever you're up to as long as it fits our challenge themes
steampunk or industrial.

Now I have finally tried out this trend-setting Acrylic Pouring Technique.
today on a canvas, another project with this awesome technique
can you find here

I worked with DecoArt Pouring Medium and the Puddle Pour method.

I used only three colours: white, black and Metallic paint 'Silver' from DecoArt.

After a longer drying time
I also used some amazing wooden parts 'Balloons' from Calico Craft Parts,
silver Sticker letters and a favourite stencil of mine 'Wildflowers' (DecoArt).

some close up's

Wildflower stencil with Heavy Gel medium
reflex beads were scattered into this medium
finally dry brushed with white Gesso

silver industrious stickers 'Cirque' (Tim Holtz) complemented
with some black cardboard gears made with cutting dies

Balloons painted with black Gesso and highlighted with silver Metallic Lustre

...and the result
'Acrylpouring of a different kind'
I hope you like this inspiration.
