Pumkins for Maja Design

Hello Maja friends!

Today is the day of the year where especially the children have a lot of fun.

 

I'm not the greatest Halloween fan but I love the mystical, imaginative side of it.

  Dimly light, swathes of mist envelope the landscape, glowing pumpkins in warm colors and not very serious stories, but always associated with a lot of fun.

It is also the main harvest time of pumpkins in my garden, 

you can cook wonderful dishes and soups

made out of pumpkins or use them just for decoration or make a pumpkin cutting event

for family and friends.

 I used the paper sheet ' The colours of fall' 

from the paper collection 'Walking in the forest'

as background. 

The beautiful green shades together with 

the delicate old trees were very suitable

for my autumn mixed media layout.

 The background brings the warm colors of the pumpkins to light.

The Magic Spell

Hi friends!

Pictures tell their own story, right?!

I was inspired to create a halloween fairytale 

for a children room with a magic effect.

 I'm a big mixed media fan and it's my passion to combine 

a lot of various elements and materials. Here I used some cutting dies from Sizzix, colours and stencils from DecoArt. But I'm also known for working with scraps and that can sometimes be remnants of textured wallpaper too .

Looking for Adventure - Joho

Hello!

 Today I want to share a new project for Scrap FX.

Our newest monthly products are all sea inspired products, fabulous, because that's one of my fav themes. But the summer is over here, Halloween is just around the corner and so was my idea to create a mixed media fantasy layout inspired from the movie 'Pirates of Carribean '.

I used a dark spider web background paper as basic. On the photo you can see a motif from this movie it was a sand sculpturing challenge.

 I wanted to create a background in a gloomy dripping atmosphere in a ship hull, therefore I used only the drops from the Splat stencil

the typical pirate symbol I found as a piece in the  Steampunk Top hat set 

 

 Lighthouse, lightbulb

 in combination with a gear and a cut out from an old magazine

our black silhouette Boho Arrow border  

reminds me on to the hat pendant of Jack Sparrow, of course Captain Jack Sparrow ;-)

Minialbum - Witching Hour

Hello crafty friends!

As you can remember, I was totally in love with our devil, so he needed to find his place on my next Halloween project. It's a minialbum in mixed media style and I used a mix of wooden shapes and cutting dies and some suitable embellishments.

A new tree house for Maja Design

Hello crafty friends!

When we were hiking in the autumn forest, we discovered a new house for our dog.  

Filou had to examine it closely and it seems as if it meets his requirements ;-) 

Back at home, he has come to love his soft dog basket and of course our sofa again,

 because it's much more comfortable as he whispered to me.

That was my inspiration for this new autumn layout in mixed media natural style.

Life is better at the beach

Welcome!

Today a new project for Scrap FX

it's a layout in maritime vintage style.
I was inspired from the beautiful saying
 on the transparency and the amazing Mermaid Dress small .

 

 used Scrap FX products

I used the Nautilus stencil in parts as background motif with distress ink pad

the Mini shells are a wonderful suitable addition also in combination with real shells and natural embellishments

for the Mermaid Dress small  I used only  turquoise and gold metall wax

Halloween - Fire and Flame for Calico Craft Parts

Hello crafty friends!

As I discovered the awesome Winged Devil 

I was totally in love because his great batman wings and the hanging foot exude so much vitality.  
At the same time, he seems very mysterious, cunning and devious. 

He should become my eyecatcher for a new Halloween shadow frame.

His sitting posture was perfect for putting him on a home-made fireplace.

The flickering flames were created with orange neon luminous paint by Decoart.

The Sorcerer's Apprentice - Goethes Zauberlehrling

I was inspired from this well known poem from Goethe 

and had a lot of fun to create a tag for this story.

 Flow, flow onward
Stretches many
Spare not any
Water rushing,
Ever streaming fully downward
Toward the pool in current gushing.

Come, old broomstick, you are needed,
Take these rags and wrap them round you!
Long my orders you have heeded,
By my wishes now I've bound you.

My blue Jeans for Maja Design

Welcome!

Today a season inspired layout, Fall time is the best time to go on a discovery tour through the forest and to rustle in the fragrant autumn leaves.

I used the background paper 'Birch' from Maja Design collection 'Walking in the forest'. 

What can be better than a wonderful walk through a colourful forest

in your favourite pair of jeans?!

 I was inspired to make a natural rustic style layout. 
For that I also worked with papers from our Denim & Friends paper collection, with corrugated cardboard, blue color shades and suitable autumn chipboards, wooden shapes and embellishments.

Fright Night

Hello crafty friends!

  I'm back with a new inspiration for you. 

So let's start with our monthly challenge at SASPC

- it is - as usual - an

Anything Goes - Steampunk/Industrial

themed challenge and all kinds of projects (except digitally created ones) are welcome! So show us your tags, cards, art journal pages, canvases, altered objects, drawings, paintings, sketches....whatever you're up to as long as it fits our challenge themes steampunk or industrial.

 

October has begun, yes it's time for Halloween, but not those nasty bloody monster stories, I love mystical and imaginative tales and so I was inspired to create a new Halloween mixed media canvas.

...Once upon in a cold, gloomy night when a strange light appeared behind the tombstone. Who drove his mischief there??? ...

I used a lot of Sizzix Halloween dies, old and new, I must say a collection of my favourites :-)
