From a Construction Mistake to a Magical Halloween Dream House

 Sometimes the best creations start with a mistake…

 

 

 

 

  

 

 

 

Als ich dieses kleine Haus aus einem Bastelset fertig gebaut hatte, sah ich das die Dachschrägen nicht passten. Klassische Fehlkonstruktion!

Aber anstatt es zu entsorgen, war es eine Herausforderung.

Mit etwas Farbe, Alterungseffekten, geheimnisvollen Details, mit den passenden chipboards ergänzt und einer großen Portion Halloween-Magie 🎃 verwandelte sich das kleine Haus schließlich komplett in ein Traumhaus lol. 

Das Dach ist kein Fehler mehr, im Gegenteil es verleiht Charakter.

Und genau das liebe ich an kreativen Projekten:

Man muss einen Fehler nicht immer korrigieren. Manchmal muss man ihn einfach in Magie verwandeln.

Rust & Romance : Steampunk Brought to Life

 

 Alte Schätze wiederentdeckt 

While tidying up my craft supplies, I rediscovered some old treasures.

 It was high time to put them to use. 

 This mixed media project brings the fascinating world of steampunk to life in an impressive 3D design. Created on a canvas, added with a wooden frame, which has been treated with artificial rust and crackle effects. The most eye-catching feature is the balcony, carefully crafted from greyboard and enhanced with a decorative metal trim. This special detail adds dimension, texture, and character, making the scene feel vivid and alive.

 To complete the composition, chipboards, metal charms and cut-outs were added throughout the artwork. These elements enrich the overall design with layered details, perfectly capturing the industrial elegance and imaginative spirit of steampunk.

Well, today I'm introducing a new furnishing. It was a blast to create objects in 3D from existing flat chipboards. I got to use my imagination to make benches, chairs, and tables. I also used dried natural materials like small tree branches, bark, moss, acorns, and more.

 Hello creative friends!

 

Today, I'm sharing a new project that's all about country style.

 I created a rustic look with a vintage twist.

 I used these beautiful chickens, which fit perfectly in a country-style kitchen or even for Easter.

Love the 3D look; it makes the objects come to life. 

 

I used a small Plain MDF House / Shrine Kit 

  and just removed the pointed roof, and that's how I created the little chicken coop.

Garden Clipboard with chipboards

 

Hello friends!

 

Today, I'm going to show you a project that is both, beautiful and practical. 

I created a clipboard from an old wooden board, and you can attach all kinds of useful things to it using small wooden clips. 

We use it in the garden, for To -do lists, notes on sowing dates and even for seed bags that we have started.

I picked out a few of the many motifs suitable for the garden. The new hanging herbs and garlic, for example, are gorgeous.On top of that came a cute birdhouse. Everything was designed to look used and weathered, and a new, useful home decor project was finished.

Market Stall - Farm fresh Eggs

 

Hello creative friends!

 

When I turned the market stall into a nostalgic Christmas market stall before Christmas, I realised that there are so many other design themes for this wonderful piece. So I designed the base to look neutral and old-fashioned. I replaced the paper roof and the back wall and refilled the crates. The result is a farmers' market stall with lots of spring plants as well as fresh eggs. These amazing wheels and the windmill give the whole thing a rustic charm.

Down the rabbit hole - Trendy Alice Always Late!

 

Hello!

 

Today a new project with Dusty Attic chipboards, it's a shadow frame with a touch of  Steampunk inspired from Alice in Wonderland theme and the Blockbuster Alice - Through the looking glass. 

 "I'm late, I'm late, for a very important date!", the white Rabbit constantly checks his pocket watch.

He represents the idea of time slipping away and the stress of meeting societal expectations. 

This is an important theme, especially in today's society.

  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 To bring the theme into the present day and to customise my favourite themes, I combined the colours moss green and rust.

 The chipboards were first primed with black gesso and then painted with Quinacidone Gold fluid acrylics, which gives them a rusty appearance. Finally, I highlighted them with copper and gold metallic colours using the dry brush technique.

 I used remnants of chipboard as frames. These leftovers are very inspiring and can spark your imagination. For the background, I used a round remnant that was embossed with a wood pattern, which represents the entrance to the rabbit hole. The frame around the photo is also a negative (leftover), which was covered with decosand after priming.

Altered Book - Alice Tea Party

 

 Hello everyone!

 

 I was inspired to create another book in Altered Art.

This time the theme is Alice in Wonderland,

 the mad cult story that has inspired generations,

 there are so many sayings you can use to create a project and tell a story.

- At last we thought you'd never arrive -

that was my inspiration motto  today.

 

At Dusty Attic you can find a lot of matching parts to this story. 

And I didn't only find amazing mushrooms or the classic hat
