Mysterious places

Hi creative friends!

Some time ago I created my first mixed media canvas of this kind in natural style,

It was a lot of fun and joy to work on it, I was also fascinated by this door silicone mould, which can be used in so many ways. Some of you knows, that my projects mostly only work with spatial effects, I just love this liveliness.

My latest acquisition is a new mould (Prima Redesign Bell Orchids).
I love lilies of the valley with its enchanting scent, especially when you discover them in the forest, there is a very special magic in the air.

To my birthday I always get such a wonderful bouquet as a present, unfortunately it always fades too fast, that's why this new mould was an absolute - Must have - for me to create projects that last a bit longer ;-)

I was inspired to create a mysterious place in a forest and used also some cutting dies, natural elements (moss, lichen, branches, snail shell) acrylic paints, distress spray stain and white gesso.

the door frame was created with another silicone mould, I used only the outer frame

drying moss combined with synthetic moss bale for a 3D effect

an air drying modeling clay was a perfect material for this mould

See possibilities everywhere

Hello creative friends!

Today I want to share with you another view on projects that you can create with Calico Craft wooden shapes. I was inspired to work on a new Art Journal  page in a natural vintage and grunge style. I love it to combine materials of different structures and textures.

Here I used dryed flowers and leaves, paper and fabric leftovers, stamps and stencils, distress inks and for a vibrant 3D effect some wooden shapes.

I hope I could inspire you to think out of the box, there is a lot of possibilities what you can do with the very wide range
 of Calico Craft products.

My  teamies at Calico Craft Parts have come up with many

Flower Festival - DT Moodboard May Dusty Attic

Welcome creative friends!

Today a new inspiration for our romance May Moodboard by
Dusty Attic.

I was inspired to create a mixed media layout as memory on a beautiful vacation last year
to Madeira, it's a beautiful island situated in the north Atlantic Ocean.
We visited the Flower Festival in spring.
There was an enchanting flower parade, where people danced happily through the streets.
A sea of colours, shapes and scents, simply unforgettably beautiful.

Have you seen this wonderful soft tone colours on our Moodboard this month,
an amazing romance picture, which reminds me on all the wonderful flower bouquets to
the Mother Day or Weddings in this springtime.

I hope I could inspire you

to take time again for the beautiful things in life!

We are looking forward to see what you come up

with this months challenge.

Happy crafting!

Thanks for your visit!

It's Coffee or Tea Time?! DT Maja Design

Welcome!

Today a new inspiration layout with our latest paper collection 'Little Street Cafe'.

It's so wonderful to enjoy a good cup of coffee with a delicious piece of cake in beautiful spring weather. Here you can only do this on the balcony or terrace at the moment, but when the sun is shining and with a good book in your hand, the day immediately looks friendlier again.

3D Shadow canvas - Maritime Scenes

Welcome creative friends!

I love projects with a 3D depth and wanted to make a shadow frame from a canvas.
As you could already see in my last project,
I love the combination of the sea theme with a touch of steampunk,
today a new inspiration with some casts, MDF shapes and a wonderful delicate background paper.

I created in a vintage grunge style in rust optic.

Tips & Tricks

1 I used a discarded wedge frame that our kids didn't want to paint, with a cutter knife I cut out the middle part

2 I wanted a very old frayed edge and used a burning candle

3 I glued on some matching parts, matching the mdf jellyfish also cats that were made with the help of moulds

4 now everything was primed with a finish chalky paint (DecoArt 'Yesteryear')

5 leave to dry thoroughly

6 I added some paper colored laser cuts

Nautical Multi Frame

7 firstly I added Crackle Glaze, into the still wet medium I sprinkled some mini Artstones on some
   places

8 after drying I highlighted the frame with brown and black metallic waxes and glued a curved paper
   band on the frame

9 finally some natural elements like sea shells, lichens, gauze and some Artstones

Heart & Soul DT SASPC

Welcome!

It's a difficult time for all of us and everyone is grateful for a little joy and distraction.  One must also see and hear something different than just the latest news and try to discover the positive sides of this crisis.

But carry on we will - especially as creating is such a good means to escape reality for some time and especially a good way to practice mindfulness which has become even more important these days!

Our May challenge is, as usual...

Anything Goes - Steampunk Industrial

I was inspired to create a mixed media board with an awesome cut out from the Stamperia paper collection 'Voyages Fantastiques' and I used some pieces make with the soft mould 'Time Machine'
which I have already used very gladly in the preceding projects.

Together with some other casts made with silicone moulds a fantasy steampunkproject
 in sea mood was created.
