A walk through nature

Welcome mixed media friends!

I was inspired to create a mixed media canvas in natural style.
I thought on the beginning of spring, where nature awakens.
In these difficult times one is grateful if one can still take a walk through the forest.

Thatswhy I work with a closed door and a shy eye behind the bushes.

I worked with some silicone moulds, dryed leaves and blooms and some natural elements.

Read a book - DIY Mixed media collage

Hello creative friends!

Without question a hard time right now, but she has her good sides, too.
You have more time to read books and of course to be creative.

So I was inspired to make a mixed media canvas in vintage, grunge style
suitable to the colours of our April Moodboard.

DIY Sea Fantasy Frame with MDF Shapes & Mould

Welcome creative friends!

I'm an enthusiastic Mixed Media designer and Steampunk & Sea
is always a very fascinating theme for me.

Some days ago I got a wonderful gift from my friend Claudia 😍
thanks sooo much!!!
I'm totaly in love with this awesome Maxi Mould 'Seaworld' from Stamperia. I used the various casts for some mixed media projects and was very thrilled to find out if you can combine this big seahorse (made with modeling clay) with some filigree MDF wooden shapes from Calico Craft Parts.

I created a mixed media frame in Altered Art.

I used some embossing powders and Metallic Wax

for some shiny metallic effects

with a very special embossing powder 'Burnt Copper Leave'

Do you also love to combine different ideas and materials? then give it a try.

Happy Flower Girls - Scrapbooking Layout

Welcome creative friends!

I was inspired to create a mixed media layout as memory on a beautiful vacation last year
to Madeira, it's a beautiful island situated in the north Atlantic Ocean.

We visited the Flower Festival in spring.
There was an enchanting flower parade, where people danced happily through the streets.
A sea of colours, shapes and scents, simply unforgettably beautiful.

Always suitable for a spring or flowery theme is the latest amazing

Maja Design paper collection ' Little street Cafe'.

I used the paper sheet 'Something sweets' as background together with 'The best place'.  Matching the flowery theme I added some chipboards from Dusty Attic, some remnants of lace, and some Prima Marketing embellishments and flowers to the mixed media layout.

DIY Easter Eggs with Mould in Shabby Chic Style

Welcome dear creative friends!

This year I was inspired to create my easter decoration in shabby chic style. Some of my projects you could discover while travelling through my Blog (Calico Craft Parts DT projects) and today I show you the matching easter eggs.

I worked with silicone moulds and two different casting materials, with air drying modeling clay and Acrylic from the hardware store. I used one of my favourite colours the Chalky Finish 'Vintage' from DecoArt, Metallic Lustre 'Champagne Ice' from DecoArt.

How you can see I used some elements from my favourite natural themes

SEA & FORREST

... and one in another chalky paint, I thought maybe I should give another color a chance ;-)

I hope I could put you in an easterly mood and bring some inspiration and joy
into these difficult days.

Make the best of it!

Stay and get healthy!

DIY Easter Home Decor

Hello creative friends!

It's a difficult time for all of us and everyone is grateful for a little joy and distraction.  One must also see and hear something different and try to discover the positive sides of this crisis.

I was inspired to create a small THANK YOU gift for a very helpful friend. It's a little easter egg for your spring home decoration. It can be set up individually or arranged in an Easter nest.

Basic  materials

more details here

How you can create a simply studs

1. use the biggest oval shape and glue some leftover stripes
or a retangle shape which you can cut into several parts

2.  for a better stability it is advisable to glue several stripes,
I have glued two stripes offset on the front side and only one on the back side

3. when the glue is well dried, glue everything on another smaller oval shape

4. if you want to place the egg seperately it looks very decorative,
if you glue another one Trefoil Border Shape under it

I hope I could inspire you  to take some time for yourself and treat yourself to something good,
something that is fun and enjoyable and helps to refill the empty battery.
Hope you are all safe and well!!

Happy crafting!

Steampunk Bottle DT SASPC

Welcome crafty friends!

It's a difficult time for all of us and everyone is grateful for a little joy and distraction.  One must also see and hear something different than just the latest news and try to discover the positive sides of this crisis.

We have decided to not take a break actually but instead turn our actual March challenge into a two-months long challenge (like we usually do with our summer and winter specials). But carry on we will - especially as creating is such a good means to escape reality for some time and especially a good way to practice mindfulness which has become even more important these days!

Our March/April challenge is, as usual...

I was inspired to create a glass bottle in mixed media Steampunk style. I wanted to try the texture mat (made with a soft mould) on a round surface.

used materials

Tips and Tricks
  1. Use a standard cartridge and apply the compound to the soft mould with a spatula, preferably not too thin then let it dry for 48 hours.
  2. I chose only a part from this texture plate and glued it on the glass bottle.
  3.  Afterwards I primed the texture mat with black gesso.
  4. Now the rust effect paste from Finnabair was used, additionally I sprinkled some homemade rust powder on the still wet mass on some places.

We are looking forward to see your new creations!
