Summer, Sun and Sunshine - time for vacation and wanderlust!
In winter we long for a little sunshine and in summer we flee from the heat of the sun. But we still are always in a better mood when the sun is shining.
On the other hand the yearning for a cool, chilly place for some peace and relaxation is stronger than ever.
That inspired me to create a new piece to decorate my home with.
It's an upccycling project and I used an MDF Surfboard shape.
By adding only a little paint and a few embellishments
you can easily create your own background and get
an eye-catcher made out of a simple board from the dollar store.
And it's not only beautiful but also practical,
because at the upper end there is a bottle opener.
Tips and Tricks
1. I used 2 pieces made with
Tim Holtz Sizzix BURST 3D Impresslits Cut and Emboss Folder
that were coloured with chalk acrylic paint and highlighted with gold metallic wax.
I stuck them on top of each other with a sticky foam pad
and decorated them with three small shells, a dog photo and ribbons
2. yes, that's a cocktail umbrella to the right :-)
I altered its look with some spray colours 'Walnut Stain' and 'Stain Picket'
3. I made some pieces with Tim Holtz Sizzix Planks Bigz
and Tim Holtz Sizzix LUMBER 3D Texture Fades Embossing Folder
I think these are such a wonderful addition to such a lot of projects with a nature feel.
I created a small fence,
so the little boy can lean back and relax.
