The Christmas Eve Gift Crisis

Hello creative friends!

You always know it’s December 23rd when the mall fills with panic-stricken men

clutching gift cards like they’re life rafts.

You can practically hear the internal monologue: “Shower gel counts as thoughtful… right?”

I'm wondering how these men manage to be shocked—SHOCKED!—that Christmas is again on December 24/25th.

But fear not, gentlemen. There is a solution -
It’s called DIY - maybe Scrapbooking?!
Yes, the mysterious art of scissors, glue, and actual effort.😁

Start simple: pick a few photos, add a memory or two

(remember when you accidentally burned the Christmas roast?),

stick on a bit of glitter—voluntary, but highly recommended 😂

and voilà: a heartfelt funny gift. 🎄

The layout hangs in a central place in the apartment. It cannot be overlooked. 😉

I added a small clip where you can attach a To-do list or gift ideas.

So this year, dear holiday procrastinators, try a DIY project.
Because nothing says “I love you” like a gift

that required sitting down for more than 30 seconds.

DIY Wichtelstube - Der moderne Adventskalender

Hello!

Seit einiger Zeit hat hier bei uns ein neuer Weihnachtsbrauch Einzug gehalten. Er stammt aus Skandinavien und lässt zu Beginn der Adventszeit ein unsichtbaren Wichtel in die Wohnstube einziehen. Der hält die Hausbewohner mit lustigen Streichen ordentlich auf Trab.

Ganz wichtig dabei ist der Briefkasten, denn hier können die Eltern erzieherisch einwirken, waren die Kleinen ungezogen, so teilt der Wichtel ihnen das per Post oder durch einen Streich mit. Da werden die Kekse versteckt, die Milch eingefärbt oder Schuhe verknotet, der Fantasie sind hier keine Grenzen gesetzt 😅.

Was mir am besten an diesem neuen Brauch gefällt, ist die Tatsache, das der Fokus nicht auf Konsum, sondern vor allen Dingen auf gemeinsamen Erlebnissen in der Familie liegt. Und ganz nebenbei kann man dabei natürlich sehr kreativ werden und seine Kindheitserinnerungen mit der Puppenstube wieder wahr werden lassen.

Ich habe meine schon vor einiger Zeit DIY Elfenmöbel genutzt

und aus einer Holzbox eine gemütliche Back - Wichtelstube gezaubert.

Die wunderbare Fairy door und einmalige Kuckucksuhr von Dusty Attic

passten perfekt zu meiner kleinen Backstube. Beide im 3D Look, was will frau mehr 😃!

Hello kreative Freunde!

Backzauber im Advent – Scrapbooking trifft Weihnachtstradition

Es gibt kaum etwas, das mehr nach Weihnachten duftet als frisch gebackene Plätzchen! 🎅✨

Dieses Jahr wollte ich unsere liebgewonnene Backtradition

auf besondere Weise festhalten – und so ist dieses weihnachtliche Scrapbooking-Layout entstanden.

In der ganzen Küche ist dann der Mehlstaub verteilt, Weihnachtsmusik dudelt im Hintergrund, die Kleinen probieren alles aus, überall klebt es, genascht wird bei jeder Gelegenheit,

und alle haben viel Spaß.

Für das Layout habe ich warme Farbtöne gewählt – viel Weiß (wie der Mehlstaub 😀) Rot, Beige, Creme und ein Hauch Gold. Das Hintergrundpapier erinnert mit den vielen kleinen Sternen an den magischen Weihnachtszauber.
Als Deko wählte ich die zum Thema passenden Chipboards von Dusty Attic aus, so entschied ich mich bspw. für diese entzückende Minischürze auf der steht: My Kitchen - my rules - genutzt hat das aber auch noch nicht 😅,

außerdem kamen Papiersterne, Tags und kleine Weihnachtsgewürze zum Einsatz.

Nach all den Jahren bin ich immer noch ein Fan dieser Scrapbooking Basteltechnik,

denn es hält nicht nur Bilder fest, sondern auch Gefühle und schöne Erinnerungen.

Market Stall with Dusty Attic

Hello creative friends!

Our family loves to visit a Christmas market before Christmas. It's a great way to get into the festive spirit! You can enjoy mulled wine and waffles in the cold weather.

I was really taken with this market stall when I first saw it. These little cranes and barrel buckets are so cute.
Thanks to very simple and clear assembly instructions, it's quick to put together.

When I was designing it, I was thinking about the famous Striezelmarkt in Dresden (Germany). There are lots of artisan stalls there. Each one is individually designed with lots of love.
It was tough to decide on a theme for this stand, so I went with a neutral weathered look. I used crackle medium, light acrylic colours and some texture. I covered the roof and back wall with paper.

The crates and barrels were also meant to look a bit worn. They were first painted in different colours with a walnut stain gel and then decorated with a little bit of winter snow.

You can also create a lovely ambience with a warm LED light.

What makes this piece special is You can fill the boxes with different items at any time to create a completely different look. I'm planning to use it as a sweet and bakery stand next time.

After Christmas, I don't want to hide it in the cupboard, so I'm already excited to see what it will look like then.

Do not open until Christmas

Hello!

Do you know this problem, you've baked loads of biscuits in the run-up to Christmas, but somehow they've all disappeared?

Christmas wishes

Hello creative friends!

Transform old items into new ones.
I came across an old Christmas decoration that was in great condition but not my style.

I choose some Christmas MDF shapes and painted it white and blue and adding some glitter and gold accents. I had a few extra snowflakes from the snowflake wreath, so I used them as Christmas tree toppers. With a few bows, cones and bells, I quickly put together a new decoration to wish visitors a merry Christmas in the hallway.
