Believe yourself

Hello everyone!

I was inspired to create a new mixed media project in industrial grunge style.
Have you seen the big variety of industrial and geometric chippies
at Dusty Attic?!
A lot of awesome pieces, very exciting and inspiring
for create three dimensional effects.

I'm a typical crafter who can't throw away anything,
so I also used the negatives (remnants) for this project. They frame my canvas very well.

I had to put the Industrial corners at the center of my project
and I used them as frame of this expressive picture

Twisted Iron #2
I've divided it into several pieces.

in two different versions
once with black acrylic paint and once with silver embossing powder

Firstly I painted the chippies with a copper metallic paint,
the gears were additionally decorated with a special embossing powder.
It is called 'Hammered Metal' from Emerald Creek Dares.

I also love to layer several parts on top of each other
especially good works with gearwheels

I also cut the arrow into two pieces.

the background of the canvas was coloured with my favourite chalky paint 'Vintage' (DecoArt)
an amazing old green colour

Acrylpouring & Calico Craft Parts

Hello everyone!

Now I have finally tried out this trend-setting Acrylic Pouring Technique.
I still had an MDF &-sign in my inventory and thought, fine, that must now believe it.

I worked with DecoArt Pouring Medium and the Puddle Pour method.

Thats a simple technique where acrylic paints are layered
on top of each other in several ‘puddles’.
I chose this method because it seemed more suitable for this MDF part.
Here you can better control the flow movements.

more details can you find here

I had a lot of fun trying out this new technique,
now it's a very special sign and deserves a place of honor.

Thanks for your visit!

Happy crafting!

Days to remember for Maja Design

Hello!

I was inspired to create a new springtime layout in a romantic vintage style.
I love the soft colours in spring, nature awakens from its winter sleep, the sun becomes more beautiful from day to day, the best time to spend more time outdoors again.
I also remember our childhood days when there were no computers to sit in front of for hours.

I thought of blossoming cherry trees when the petals fell like snow.

Create with Fantasy

Hello everyone!

I was inspired to make a new art journal page. You can always try out new things and let your imagination run wild. Always a wonderful adventure, where you don't know exactly what will happen in the end.
Unfortunately i am still on sick leave and condemned to do nothing. but hey luckily my poor and hands are not affected and so i finally have time to live out my chronic creative virus again. That lifts the mood and makes you almost forget the pain.

I have used both a sunshine and a rain template, suitable for the current weather, only the storm is missing, because the creative fairy's hairstyle is perfect in the upper left corner ;-).
I wanted to express it, no matter how the mood is, sunny or dark, use the time when the muse kisses you. A blooming fantasy that also needs courage to be shown.

at first sight it appears blue, only if you look closely you can see it at emerald shade

I added a creative fairie and a fantasy butterfly

Summer Dreams for Dusty Attic

Welcome everyone!

Spring is just around the corner here in our countries. We are looking forward to more sunshine, warmth and bright colours in nature.

When I saw our new March Moodboard, I immediately thought of flowering meadows in summer. The colour red and the natural structures inspired me to design a layout with one of my favourite flowers. The poppy, beautiful, but always far too quickly faded.

I just folded a corner over and fixed it with a brad.

the background papers are from Maja Design

Firstly I coloured the chippies with Metallic Acrylic Paint from DecoArt 'Dark Patina'.
For more texture I sprinkled Golden Decosand into the still wet colour.

For this layout I only used two chipboard plates, but I think more isn't necessary for this natural style. On the wildflower plate there are a lot of single parts in all sizes.
They are beautiful and very filigree and remind me of meadow flowers.

Travelalbum 'Moments'

Welcome creative friends!

I was inspired to create a new mixed media minialbum in vintage industrial style with a touch of steampunk, where I collect not only some memories from past vacations,
but also some awesome wooden steampunk shapes from Calico Craft Parts.
Have you seen the latest additions, absolutely stunning!

The album was handmade with old calendar sheets,
leftovers from scrapbook paper, washitapes, stamps, stencils, tags, metal embellishments
 and cutting dies.

and an explanation how I worked with a layer technique
