Magic Winter Time

Welcome friends!

Recently we have made a beautiful winter trip in the mountains 'Harz'.
Snow and ice magically transformed the landscape into a winter fairy tale.

... and then we discovered a beautiful castle that looks like
it was torn right from the pages of a storybook

I choose for my mixed media layout the ”Sparkle” paper
  more details here

I started as always by applying a coat of clear gesso on the background and then I cut out a handmade half moon from a white structure paper. I painted the moon with some watercolors and a little bit glitter paint and some deco stars for a magical effect.

It was a good background for a Dusty Attic chipboard and
some winter trees made with cutting dies.

and  some another close up's

a small cluster in the upper left corner
snow texture and glitter paints for some dreamy winter impressions

another bigger cluster made with frosted roses,
silver winter berries, feathers and laces

I framed the cut out photo with a chipboard and used the moon as magical background.
I colored the flourish frame with white acrylic paint only on some places and white embossing powder to match to a wintry layout.

a wooden tree disc, snow paint and some paper leftovers

and a beautiful saying on a tag as addition and memory on a wonderful day

used Maja Design papers from the 'Joyous Winterdays' collection

Many thanks for your visit
and I hope I could inspire you to create your very own, amazing idea.

Winteralbum with Tips and Tricks

The time was right to make a new handmade minialbum in size 15 x 15 cm.
In keeping with the season in a winter theme.

You will also see on the next pictures,
that I like to disassemble the wooden pieces into several parts.
Sometimes they break too, but they are not useless,
because such small items can be put together very well to new elements
and use on smaller projects, such as on cards or ATC's.

more details can you find here

I want to share this here

Vitamin Caffein for Maja Design

I was inspired to create a mixed media layout to a very essential thing of my life.

Coffee the most important meal of my day, nothing works without it.
Sure, you know it too.
It's a very good mood maker in the morning, my daily needed vitamin drink ;-).

A friend says, yes, that layout is the right new wall decoration for my kitchen.
Why not, only the right picture frame is missing.
I used some Maja papers from the Fika Collection

more details can you find here

.. hmm, it smells like coffee :-)

... and so that the whole thing gets a little flavor,
I have also processed real coffee powder

Of course, some origin coffee beans shouldn't be missing, or?!
Duty calls - tell her, I'll call you back!

;-) :-) ;-)

Thanks for your visit!

Have a good time!

Happy Mind for Calico Craft Parts

Welcome friends!

Today another winter inspiration project for a cozy home decoration.

I was thinking on our dog, he loves the winter time and especially when it's snowing.
Filou freaks out with the first snow and when we walking in the woods,
he is full of enthusiasm and finds hardly an end.
No matter it storms or snows, his nose is in the snow and always looking for a new trail.

I used a thick wooden board from an 'One Euro Shop' as basic.
Together with some awesome wooden shapes from Calico Craft parts
and some another self-made
wintery elements it's now an unique home decoration piece.
And even better, here in the warm home, I can enjoy the snowy winter landscape
comfortably with a cup of hot cocoa or coffee
without icicles on my nose and wet shoes

more details can you find here

the big 'JOY' wooden letters were a perfect addition

 Many thanks for your visit!
Have a good time!

Vitamin Sea - Moodboard Dusty Attic

A new year has begun with many new hopes, wishes and dreams.
One of them has already come true
I'm very happy and proud to work in such a very talented and amazing team :-)!

I think and hope it will be an amazing year for us all!

Today I am sharing my take on this month's gorgeous Mood Board.

I was inspired by the sea colours, a beautiful palette with my favourite theme.

For this mixed media layout I used a picture from our latest summer holiday,
it shows a very exciting beach life with a lot of stone cairns.
We always found it very exciting and discovered there again and again
very interesting stones, shells and drift wood.

I was in love with this beautiful Scribble Frame Set very suitable for a layout
in nature style. I chose also some other maritime elements
such like driftwood pieces, shells and seeweed.

some details

I used brown embossing powder for the frame and driftwood
and rubbed white paint over some surface places.

The other chippies were covered with snow white embossing powder.

I also love the origin colour shade of this chipboards
and when I create layouts in vintage
or nature style I often use the origin look
or I apply the embossing powder only in some places,
so that a natural weathered impression arises.

Dusty Attic chipboards used:

Thank you so much for your visit today I hope you enjoyed my post
and are inspired by it to use your Dusty Attic goodies.

I wish you all an amazing 2019

with lots of health, love and creativity!

Happy crafting!

Explore & Adore

Welcome friends!

I hope you all had a good start in the new year 2019!

I wish you health, happiness and joy and
have a lot of fun with creating new ideas and projects.

I'm looking forward to inspire you for another year with all the amazing 'old' and new paper collections from Maja Design.

I was inspired to make a layout in a wintery mood and used a background paper
 from the 'I wish' collection.
The delicate brown shades were absolutely right for an mixed media layout
in nature style
which shows a litte girl in a winter forrest that has a lot of fun in the snow.

Explore & Adore -  I think a very good motto for our new creative year, right?!
